Error description

  • Process Portal displays wrong users on finished tasks when
user name and user_id are similar. Example: USER_ID=1234 from a
user and USER_NAME=01234 from another user would cause the
    issue.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The incorrect user name of a task is *
    * displayed in Process Portal. *

    ****************************************************************
Process Portal uses the REST API /rest/bpm/wle/v1/user to
query task information from the server. This information
includes who currently owns the task. A problem arises when
two users have similar user names and user IDs. For example,
if User1 has a user name of "1234" and User2 has a user ID of
"01234", the user information that is returned might be for a
different user than was expected. Because the user ID is
checked first, the string is parsed as a number; therefore,
the leading zero is not recognized. If User1 owns the current
task, the data for User2 is displayed because that user ID
    takes precedence.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.2 that queries either
the specific user name or the specific user ID to ensure the
accuracy of the query when retrieving the task's user details.
