JR48566: TASKS NOT DISAPPEARING FROM MY TASK LIST ON PORTAL WHEN REASSIGNING VIA TWTASK.REASSIGNTO FUNCTION IN BPD

APAR status

Error description

  • When the JavaScript API function TWTask.reassignTo() is
    invoked in a BPD to reassign a task to another participant
    group, the Work > My Tasks view in Process Portal for a user
    to whom the task was previously assigned and who does not
    belong to the task's new participant group does not
    automatically update (so that the task is removed from the
    task list).  Refreshing the browser does reflect the change,
    but it should happen automatically.
    
    This issue does not occur when TWTask.reassignTo() is invoked
    to assign the task to another user or group of users, only
    when the task is assigned to another participant group.
    

Local fix

  • Refresh the browser to remove the tasks from the task list.

    The code responsible for auto-refreshing the task list in Work
    > My Tasks did not include logic to check whether a task that
    is currently listed may have been reassigned to a participant
    group to which the user does not belong (therefore, it did not
    explicitly "exclude" the task from the list for automatic
    refresh).
    

Problem conclusion

  • Adding checking for task reassignment to a different
    participant group in the My Tasks auto-refresh logic resolved
    the issue.
    
    An interim fix for Business Process Manager Version 8.0.1.2 has
    been published to Fix Central.  Please refer to the separate
    file that is automatically downloaded with the interim fix
    for prerequisite information and installation/uninstallation
    instructions.
