Error description

  • Change in behavior from previous releases of BPM and WLE. When
wimconfig.xml repository value for userDisplayNameMapping was
set to "displayName", the displayName attribute from the LDAP
user entry was used for the user's fullname. This causes
confusion in several of the UIs, such as:

    * Process Admin Console's Group Management "Add Users" retrieval
    * Process Admin Console's "Bulk User Attributes" retrieve by
    name
    * Process Portal "Welcome"

Local fix

Problem summary

  • BPM retrieves 'cn' instead of 'displayname' from LDAP in order
    to represent the full name

    PROBLEM DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
This problem was introduced in BPM 8.0.0.0. There was a new
method for vmm implemented which is using 'cn' instead of
'displayName'. If you log in Process Portal you will, as well,
see the cn instead of the display name in right upper corner.
Another way is to search for an LDAP user by using the name
    filter in
BPM REST API Tester > Organization API > Users.
And if you want to reproduce the problem in the Process Admin
    you can go to
Server Admin > User Management > Bulk User Attribute
    Assignment
and search for a specific LDAP user. If you open the table
LSW_USR_XREF from BPM database you will see the content of the
LDAP attribute 'cn' in the column FULL_NAME.

Problem conclusion

  • There is a new configuration option available in the
100Custom.xml file that enables the configuration of the full
name or former display name mapping from LDAP via VMM to BPM.
