APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • This problem happens in the BPM migration framework. In case
that the installation path of source environment is prefix of
installation path of target environment the target path will
contain double backslashes. This path is then used by the
migration routines and will cause wrongly created resources.

The following example would result in double backshlash
    scenario.

    Source:

    D:\WebSphere\AppServer

    Target:

    D:\WebSphere\AppServerV8

Local fix

  • If the target environment was installed in different path (not
prefix), the problem of double backslash would not occur.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
After migrating from WebSphere Business Monitor V7.0.0.4 to
Business Monitor V8.0.1.1, the value of some WebSphere
variables, such as WAS_HOME, contains double backslashes. As a
result, the Cognos service cannot be started in the migrated
environment. This problem happens only when the source
installation path is a prefix of the target installation path,
    for example, C:\Monitor and C:\Monitor8011.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available that converts any double backslashes "\\"
to a single forward slash "/" during migration.
