Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.0.0 * * Advanced, Standard, and Express * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Because java.text.DateFormatSymbols * * has a writeObject method of its own, * * serialization framework in migration * * code needs the special handler to * * handle this object. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When you migrate to IBM BPM V8.5.0.0, the DBUpgrade command tries to update the BPD instance or task data. You might see the "custom handler required for java.text.DateFormatSymbols" exception if you used java.text.DateFormatSymbols as the type for some business items when designing process models.
Problem conclusion
A fix is available that adds a handler for java.text.DateFormatSymbols object so that the serialization code in the migration can find the expected handler. On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR48151: Select the product group, product, installed version, and platform, click Continue. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR48151, and click Continue. When downloading fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix.
