Error description

  • The method getContents() on the HttpURLConnection class was
being used to retrieve the contents of the remote file. If the
content type is not in the stream this call throws a error.

Local fix

  • User can put the URL in a browser and copy it into a
local file, then import it into IID.

Problem summary

  • The method getInputStream() should be called instead, as a
content handler does not get involved in the process, it just
downloads the file bits. The handles the case where the content
type is not specified.
