Error description

  • Snapshot 1 has an activity. Snapshot 2 deleted this activity and
    created another activity. The Process Performance scoreboard
    tries to lookup up the activity name from snapshot1, however, no
     longer finding this activity it displays <Dynamic Acitivity>.

    In Process Center environment, only the most recent tip is
    looked at, and if the activity flow object id cannot be found,
    it gets displayed as <DynamicActivity>. In Process Server
    environment, only the default snapshot is looked at, and if the
    activity flow object id cannot be found, it gets displayed as
    <DynamicActivity>.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In Process Portal, the Process *
    *                      Performance dashboard displays          *
    *                      "<Dynamic Activity>" as the label for   *
    * an activity created in an older *
    * process application snapshot, whose *
    * definition was deleted in a newer *
    *                      snapshot.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The Process Performance dashboard code attempted to look up the
    name of an activity (instance) from only the activity
    definitions present in the tip snapshot (in a Process Center
    environment) or the default snapshot (in a Process Server
    environment), using an internal activity identifier as the
    key, and assumed the activity was from a dynamic linked
    process if it could not find the activity definition in
    the snapshot, displaying the label <Dynamic Activity>.

Problem conclusion

  • The activity name lookup code has been modified to search all
    snapshots for the matching activity definition, resolving the
    issue.
