Error description
During an update on work basket assignments, customer may experience the following 'WorkItem update in progress" exception: 8/13/13 15:51:15:316 GMT+02:00] 0000004b TraceHTM 3 com.ibm.task.framework.TaskManagerServiceImpl.writeLogAndTraceEn try(Task ManagerServiceImpl.java:39694) CWTKA0003E: Unexpected exception during execution. com.ibm.task.api.UnexpectedFailureException: CWTKA0003E: Unexpected exception during execution. java.lang.RuntimeException: WorkItem update in progress at com.ibm.task.core.BCWBAssignmentHandler.internalGetWorkItem(BCWB Assignme ntHandler.java:597) at com.ibm.task.core.BCWBAssignmentHandler.internalUpdateWorkItem(B CWBAssig nmentHandler.java:704) Before APAR JR46078, in some cases too many work item entries have been created in the database. With JR46078, this has been fixed. However as these superflous workitems still exist in the database, these need to be detected and deleted. This APAR detects and deletes duplicate superflous workitems.

Problem summary
Updates on work basket assignments with large number of tasks may lead to 'Workitem update in progress' exception PROBLEM DETAILED DESCRIPTION: When processing updates of Work Baskets with a large number of tasks, the following exception occurs: com.ibm.task.api.UnexpectedFailureException: CWTKA0003E: Unexpected exception during execution. java.lang.RuntimeException: WorkItem update in progress No tasks can be transferred into this Work Basket any more. This interim fix corrects the code to handle also Work Baskets with large numbers of tasks.
Problem conclusion
When retrieving the list of work items for a parent work item on a work basket, it is now checked that only 1 entry is in the list. If there are move than 1 entries, the most recent is selected, and the others are deleted.
