Error description
When user trying to start the firststeps.sh program from <install root>/profiles/[DMgr]/firststeps/bpm.wbm there is an error window: "Unable to find supported browser - Mozilla Firefox" with messages of: The FirstSteps cannot start. This error typicallyoccurs when a supported browser cannot be found. However, this system has Firefox browser 17.0.7 installed (output from command: firefox -version).
Local fix
This issue is similar to the one described at BPM technote #1643517. L2 sugggested customer to edit the <install root>/profiles/[DMgr]/firststeps/bpm.wbm/launchpad/preferences.s h to add this line: user_pref("security.enablePrivilege.enable_for_tests", true);' >>$userprefpath/user.js and customer is then able to start FristSteps program.
