APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Following are characteristics of a process application, that may
    exhibit the warnings,

    -A toolkit containing a Service
-The Service flow contains an AIS step
-The AIS step has an Error intermediate event attached
-The process application depends on this toolkit
-An Ajax service references the service from the toolkit within
    its flow

    Scenario 1
    1. Open the toolkit in Process Designer
    2. Navigate to the service, and open it
    3. Locate the AIS, and click on the attached Error intermediate
    event
    4. Observe the Properties > Implementation

The Error code and Error mapping have no warnings

    Scenario 2
    1. Open the process application in Process Designer
    2. Navigate to the service, through the toolkit dependency, and
    open it
    3. Locate the AIS, and click on the attached Error intermediate
    event
    4. Observe the Properties > Implementation

The Error code and Error mapping labels will have a warning
symbol beside them (yellow triangle + exclamation point). If the
user hovers over, the tooltip will reveal the warning message:
"No error events that are thrown contain an error code that
matches the error code specified for the catch event."

Problem summary

  • Warnings displayed for error code and error data mapping on
error catch events when opened from a dependent toolkit.

    USER AFFECTED:
PD users with a service or BPD from a dependent toolkit open in
an editor when looking at the implementation properties for an
    error catch event.

    PROBLEM DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
The validation of error codes and error data mappings traverses
the model looking for the error end event that defines the error
code and data type. This traversal does not work properly when
the starting point is not in the currently opened process
application or toolkit but is instead in a toolkit dependency.
The result is a warning shown in a read-only editor even when
the error catch event is defined correctly.

Problem conclusion

  • The traversal code now takes into consideration the versioning
context of the service or BPD that is the starting point of the
traversal so that it can handle starting from the currently
opened process app or a dependent toolkit.
