Error description

  • If two users are designated as "experts" for a BPD (are listed
in the Experts tab for a task created from the BPD), and a task
is assigned by one expert to the other, when the newly assigned
user subsequently attempts to work with the task in Process
Portal, the (first) coach may be displayed in view-only mode.
Additionally, in some cases, the text "View mode: you are
working on this task with..." may also be displayed.
An error and stack trace that is similar to the following text
is written to the SystemOut.log file when a coach is loaded.
Note: Some lines have been omitted.

Due to timing issues, Process Portal may force a coach to go
into read-only mode when a "expert" user (of a BPD) reassigns
a task to another "expert" user (of the same BPD).

Problem conclusion

  • Activating the collaboration feature ONLY when there is at
least one collaborator requested as part of the task being
    reassigned resolves the issue.

Interim fixes for Business Process Manager Version 8.0.1.0 and
Version 8.0.1.1 have been published to Fix Central. Please
refer to the separate file that is automatically downloaded
with the interim fix for prerequisite information and
    installation/uninstallation instructions.

NOTE: With this interim fix installed in a four-cluster
topology, when a coach is loaded in Process Portal, an error
is written to the WebApp cluster SystemOut.log file and the
collaboration function is not correctly initialized. Please
refer to this technote for more information on the issue, and
how to resolve it (the procedure documented in the section
"Resolving the problem" can be applied before or after
    installing this interim fix):
