  • We should sleep a bit when we're re-initializing the reader due
to backup operation performed while we're at online log

Problem summary


    

  • InfoSphere CDC ends reporting a scraper error (possible
NullPointerException).

This problem affects customers which transaction logs in
Sybase ASE are using devices with directo i/o turned on.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This issue is fixed by applying ISCDC 6.5.1 Interim Fix 12 for
Sybase.

    



Temporary fix


    

  • Turn OFF direct i/i option on the database device that us using
for the Sybase transaction log. This requires the ASE server to
be restarted.
