Error description

  • log parser exception in private scrape while subscription is
    shutting down causes subscription appeared to be hanging
    .
    unable to end subscription through MC, must restart instance to
    be able to restart subscription
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Unable to end subscription through MC, must stop the instance to
    stop the subscription.
    
    This issue happens when the target failed due to an error
    without notifying the source. Source continues to accumulate
    changes to send until the sending queues become full. At
    this point, the source will wait until the queues become
    available again.
    If at that point the source receives a shutdown request, it will
    be unable to respond and it will appear unresponsive (it
    needs space in the queues to send the shutdown request
    to the target).
    
    This issue affect all CDC engines and all versions.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This issue is fixed by applying the following Interim fixes
    depending on the database flavor:
    - ISCDC 6.5.0 Interim Fix 42 for Oracle Redo, or
    - ISCDC 6.5.1 Interim Fix 3 for Oracle Redo, or
    - ISCDC 6.5.1 Interim Fix 2 for Microsoft SQL Server, or
    - ISCDC 6.5.1 Interim Fix 1 for EventServer, or
    - ISCDC 6.5.1 Interim Fix 2 for Oracle Trigger, or
    - ISCDC 6.5.1 Interim Fix 4 for Informix, or
    - ISCDC 6.5.2 Interim Fix 15 for Oracle Redo.
    

Temporary fix

  • Restart the instance.
