Error description
Customer set the ddl_awareness system parameter off to turn off the ddl awareness for static mapping, this works for most of the ddl, but for "ALTER TABLE ... TRUNCATE PARTITION..." it didn't work
Local fix
Problem summary
CDC for Oracle Redo stops when encountering the following DDL "ALTER TABLE... TRUNCATE PARTITION" even if the DDL awareness system parameter is turned OFF.
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
CDC 6.5.2 Interim Fix 7 for Oracle redo has added a new parameter called for_all_table_mappings_history_is_managed_independently_on_targe t. This parameter can be used when table partitions are utilized to manage historical information in the source table and you want to manage the historical information independently on the target table. When a partition is dropped or truncated on the source side to remove some history that action will not be replicated to the target table. The target table will retain that historical information until it is removed by your own independent cleanup procedures.
