Error description
Enhancement APAR to look at parser for Complex Survive Rule that takes 30 minutes to open in GUI
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: QS Survive users who have seveal rules (>12) and the first is very large (>2000 chars) **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The bug is in the handling of the data validation on that first Survive form. The UI attempts to validate any complex expressions within the grid while performing the initial load. It was wrong to attempt to validate the complex rule there because any complex rule error are trapped in complex expression editor form. For reasons which have not been determined (possibly a bug in the 3rd party control), rows get validated multiple times as the grid gets populated. The harmful side-effect of this is that if you have a large complex rule (that the UI is slow in parsing) as the first rule in the grid and a large number of rules following, it can leads to the large complex rule being validated many times (eg 64 for the CRM that first noted this symptom). **************************************************************** RECOMMENDATION: Use corresponding patch or avoid this situation ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
The bug has been fixed by by removing that unnecessary call to validate complex rules.
