Concurrent catalog uploads fail because one catalog upload thread holds a database connection longer than the firewall time-out. This happens for users who have a firewall setup between the Commerce server and database. After failing, all subsequent catalog uploads fail with the same database connection issue until the server is restarted.
Use Dataload instead of Catalog Upload.
USERS AFFECTED: Users who have setup a firewall between their Commerce server and Database. PROBLEM ABSTRACT: Concurrent catalog uploads fail because one catalog upload thread holds a database connection longer than the firewall time-out BUSINESS IMPACT: Regular server restarts cause downtime RECOMMENDATION:
Added error handling code for catalog upload to clear the stale connection, instead of holding it for the next catalog upload. ------------------------------------------------------------- The latest available maintenance information can be obtained from the Recommended Fixes for WebSphere Commerce technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3046&uid=swg21261296
