Error description

  • After upgrading from a Business Process Manager 8.0.0.0 system
    with active users to Business Process Manager 8.0.1.0,
    Business Space page loading fails with a blank screen and
    there are JavaScript errors.
    
    In some cases, the following error may be included in a
    SystemOut.log file (for the Web cluster if a Remote Messaging,
    Remote Support, and Web topology pattern is being used):

    In Business Process Manager 8.0.0.0, Process Portal began
    using a Business Space theme as the primary interface for the
    end user.  This was changed in Business Process Manager
    8.0.1.0 to use a stand-alone JSP, but the Business Space
    WebDAV capabilities are still used for the Process Portal
    theme.  The issue was encountered because of redirection logic
    for the /BusinessSpace URL that was included for users that
    had logged in when using the 8.0.0.0 version and later log in
    when using the 8.0.1.0 version.  Unnecessary code related to
    the redirection logic and subsequent changes to a JavaScript
    library led to the JavaScript errors.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The problem was fixed by removing unnecessary code related to
    redirection so that a simplified redirection page is stored in
    WebDAV.  As a result of this simplification, the JavaScript
    library that was previously referenced is no longer referenced.
    
    The fix ensures that users are properly redirected to the new
    Process Portal address for 8.0.1.0 if the address is
    originally entered as /mum/enabler rather than the Process
    Portal location of /ProcessPortal/jsp/index.jsp.  If the
    Advanced edition is used, the fix makes it possible to display
    the Business Space interface.
    
    An 8.0.1.0 interim fix for JR45108 is available from Fix
    Central.  Fix application instructions are also available when
    obtaining the interim fix from Fix Central.
