JR44389: DOC: WBMDBTYPE DOES NOT ACCEPT DOCUMENTED VALUE "DB2_UNIVERSAL" WHEN USING MANGEPROFILES COMMAND TO CREATE MONITOR V8 PROFILE

• Closed as documentation error.

Error description

• mangeProfiles command fails using the profileTemplates shipped
  with IBM Business Monitor 8.0.  Two parameters cause the
  failure:
  1. wbmDBJDBC must be added to specify the path to the WAS JDBC
  binaries in /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/jdbcdrivers/DB2
  2. wbmDBType does not accept the documented value
  "DB2_UNIVERSAL".  Customer changed value to "DB2_Server" to make
  it work. In client's failed-customProfileCreate.log, you will
  get below error.
  
  [INFO][line 12] Create IBM Business Monitor Custom Profile ...
  [INFO][line 31] Create profile
  The following validation errors were present with the command
  line arguments:
         wbmDBJDBCClasspath: wbmDBJDBCClasspath cannot be empty.
         wbmDBType: The database type (DB2_Universal) is not
  supported.
  [ERROR][line 35] Create IBM Business Monitor Custom Profile
  Fail!
  

Local fix

• The Information Center contains incorrect information.  It
  should have replaced DB2_UNIVERSAL with DB2_Server.
  

Problem summary

• Profile Templates contain incorrect commands that cause profile
  creation to fail.
  

Problem conclusion

• InfoCenter 8.0.0.0 update to reflect correct template
  and commands.
