Error description

  • PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
After migrating from 7.2 to 8.0 and when invoking a web service
via soap, some XML values are not propagated properly in the
    response XML.
Regenerating the types in Process Designer fixes the problem
and the correct response is observed after that.

Local fix

    ****************************************************************
After migrating from 7.2 to 8.0 and when invoking a web service
via soap, some XML values are not propagated properly in the
    response XML.
Regenerating the types in Process Designer fixes the problem
and the correct response is observed after that.
When a field descriptor used for translating XML to a TW
object cannot be found for an element of the SOAP response,
the resulting TW object is empty. A FFDC entry is created
stating that a field descriptor could not be found for the
element that was to be deserialized.

Problem conclusion

  • This fix changes the
algorithm for finding the field descriptor, allowing the XML
element from the SOAP response to populate a TW object with
    its contents.

This fix has been integrated into the v8.0.1.0 refreshpack.

Temporary fix
