Error description

  • In an event driven business process definition with
auto-tracking disabled, when an event is triggered via an
Undercover Agent (UCA), the following error is written to
    SystemOut.log:

(PFS-0065) The tracking group with external ID <BPD_ID> is not
    defined.

A corresponding record is also inserted into the
LSW_PERF_DATA_TRANSFER_ERRORS table in the Performance Data
    Warehouse database.

This issue prevents the tracking group from being associated
with the tracked record, unless the business process definition
    is auto-tracked.

With auto-tracking disabled, code that handles a task
completion event was attempting to set fields in the tracking
record (including "external ID") that are only valid when
    auto-tracking is enabled.

Problem conclusion

  • Checking for whether auto-tracking is enabled prior to setting
the fields specific to auto-tracking resolved the issue.
