Error description

  • The KPI Manager widget cannot be used to create an aggregate KPI
based on a metric in an nested (i. e. not top level) monitoring
context. In the Metric Selection Tree dialog (displayed when
clicking the "..." button next to the Metric field in the New
Aggregate KPI dialog), a top level monitoring context can be
expanded (metrics and nested monitoring contexts are displayed
underneath), but when you try to expand a nested monitoring
context, the expansion never completes (an animated icon
    indicating activity continuously spins).

Local fix

  • Define the KPI as a static KPI, in the monitor model definition.

A JavaScript callback function that builds a tree of metrics
and monitoring contexts (from the hierarchy retrieved from REST
services, for a monitor model) is not correctly setting
objects underneath monitoring contexts that are not at the top
    level.
For Version 7.5.1 customers, this issue is resolved in IBM
Business Monitor Version 7.5.1 Fix Pack 1 (7.5.1.1), available
    at http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24033020.
For Version 8.0 customers, this issue will be resolved in an
upcoming maintenance release for that version.
