JR43257: MQSEND DOESN'T SEND A DATAGRAM BY DEFAULT

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Use DB2 MQ function MQSEND to send a message with
    default configuration, a reply message will be seen in the
    queue. The default message type sent by MQSEND should be
    datagram, which doesn't need a reply, but because of a bug in
    the code, in fact it sends a request message instead, which
    needs a reply. From MQ AMI trace, the following information will
    be seen:
    
       ! MD report options 0x0

       ! MD expiry -1
       ! MD feedback 0x0
       ! MD encoding 0x222
       ! MD ccsid 0

  • Problem was fistly fixed in Version 10, FixPak 1. This
    fix should be applied on the federation Server.
