Use DB2 MQ function MQSEND to send a message with default configuration, a reply message will be seen in the queue. The default message type sent by MQSEND should be datagram, which doesn't need a reply, but because of a bug in the code, in fact it sends a request message instead, which needs a reply. From MQ AMI trace, the following information will be seen: ! MD report options 0x0 ! MD message type 1 ! MD expiry -1 ! MD feedback 0x0 ! MD encoding 0x222 ! MD ccsid 0 Message type 1 means it's a request type of message, refer to this link: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv7/v7r0/topic/com.ib m.mq.csqzaq.doc/fc_MQMT_.htm
