When searching for a long string in the catalog search field an unfriendly exception appears on the CMC UI. This unfriendly exception is unclear to business users and they are unable to understand it. The problem occurs when the search string is longer than the database column definition.
USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Commerce Users who use the catalog search field when the database type is DB2 and the search string is longer than the corresponding column in the database. PROBLEM ABSTRACT: When using the catalog search capability of the Commerce Management Center, an exception appears in the tool if the database is DB2 and the search value is a long string. BUSINESS IMPACT: The unfriendly exception is not clear for business users who are unfamiliar with SQL exception syntax RECOMMENDATION:
