Error description

  • There is a process app depends on a toolkit, and there are
complex Business Object definitions in the toolkit. If a
variable was added with type defined in this toolkit to a
BPD, no matter how simple this BPD is, there will be out of
memory error as soon as a BPD instance started (Even the
inspector view can not be seen).

    Reproduce Steps:
    1) import the attached .twx file according to your BPM version.
    2) run process (there is only one process in both .twx file)
    directly.
    3) wait for about 3-5 mins, OOM error will be thrown.
p.s. you can also start instance from process portal, the test
    result is same.

    Findings:
    1) The problem is not resolved even after increasing process
center's max heap size to 2G from 768M (default value).

    2) From the GC log, excessive GC detected. The application seems
to be using some quite large objects. The largest request which
triggered an allocation failure was for 5106912 bytes.

    3) From the Javacore, Java heap is almost exhausted : 0% free
    Java heap
The number of waiting on condition threads are 228 ( 89% )
    thread method:
Method Name Number of Threads Percentage
    java/lang/Object.wait(Native Method) 189 74 (%)
    java/lang/Thread.sleep(Native Method) 13 5 (%)
    ...
