Problem summary

  • The following problem has been fixed in DB2 LUW V9.5 FP8
    and DB2 LUW V9.7 FP5:

    Releases: v95, v97
    .
    User Affected: Q and SQL Replication customers.
    .
    Problem Description: Windows Replication programs crash
      while they read the password file to connect to a
      database server.  LINUX/UNIX Replication programs
      display message ASN1982E after they read the password
      file to connect to a database server.
    .
    Problem Summary: Replication programs overlay storage if
      two or more application threads read the password file
      in parallel.
    .
    Problem Conclusion: Increase length of userid/password
      variables from 19 to 129 characters.  Replace global
      variables in function that reads password file with
      local variables.
