Error description
We have come across a couple of issues with the TPF Toolkit Merge Tool that we wanted to make you aware of. I don?t believe these issues exist with the desktop TPF Merge Tool. 1) The ?active? difference in the output frame does not stay in sync with the ?active? difference in the input frame. It seems like the only time the difference in the output frame becomes active (highlights) is when a selection is made within the active difference. The active item in the output frame should highlight with the active item in the input frame. When a selection has not been made in the output frame yet, if this item becomes active, the output frame should have a dark gray highlight and when it?s not active, it should be a light gray highlight. Once I?ve merged all of the differences I quickly go back through all of the differences to make sure I?ve merged correctly and haven?t skipped any items. Having the output correctly highlighted to match the highlighted input, would greatly help in this process. 2) The other thing that we?ve found is when the edit current difference window (that causes the green difference in the output frame) is brought up, a newline is added to the end. So, when the edit is applied to the output file, a new, empty line is inserted at the end of the difference unless the user deletes the newline in the edit window.
