APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Federation server will copy remote table's index and index
statistics to local during nickname creation. The statistics
information can be checked in local catalog table
sysibm.indexes, but user will see "Index has no statistics"
warning message in SQL plan.

The warning message is similar to the following:
  EXP0022W  Index has no statistics.  The index
  "NICKNAME"."NICKNAME_IDX1" has not had runstats run
  on it.  This can lead to poor cardinality and
  predicate filtering estimates.

DB2 issues this warning message because the "STATS_TIME" column
of this index in table sysibm.indexes is NULL.

Local fix

  • 1) We can ignore this warning because the index statistics info
will be used by optimizer.
2) Run nnstat tool for this nickname.
