Error description

  • dsjob commandline is taking too much time on the startup phase
    
    (important performance lost between v7 and v8).

    Users of dsjob commandline utility

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Intensive users of dsjob commandline program have reported
    performance issues when moving to version 8, even if domain
    logon credentials are not used.
    ****************************************************************
    RECOMMENDATION:
    Customers can take the updated version of dsjob from the latest
    version of this patch. Avoid use of -domain logon credentials
    byusing dsjob on the DataStage server / engine layer machine
    wherethe DataStage projects are located.
    This fix is included in 8.1 FP1
    ****************************************************************
    

Problem conclusion

  • A code optimization has removed the need to start up a second
    dsapi_server and dsapi_slave process. This is expected to
    reducethe startup cost of dsjob significantly.
