APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When data is passed from the Teradata Connector stage, a
  ustring- to-string conversion occurs.
  Message:: handle_nulls: When checking operator: When binding
  output schema variable "outRec": When binding output interface
  field "FIELD_NAME" to field "FIELD_NAME": Implicit conversion
  from source type "ustring[13]" to result type "string[13]":
  Converting ustring to string using codepage ISO-8859-1.

  DataStage 8.0.1a non-nls installation.
  This is coming from the common connector code. By default all
  strings are being treated as characters (ustring) instead of
  bytes (string). Hence the warning message, These warning s can
  be safely suppressed using the message handlers and should not
  effect o/p data.

• These warning may be suppressed using the message handlers and
  should not effect data.
  

Problem summary

     data in the schema.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  char" datatypes are being read into "ustring" schema,
    instead of "string" schema.

  This fix is included in Information Server 81 Fix Pack 1.

Problem conclusion

• Issued fixed as part of a Stage property: Describe strings in
  Bytes, which when set to yes, reads "char" types into
     "string" schema.
