Error description

  • A CLI application performing an array input with DELETE or
UPDATE statements may receive an SQLCODE of -30005 from DB2 for
z/OS if the size of the array (the number of rows) is larger
    than 32760.
    .
DB2 for z/OS does not support the delete or update operation
when using parameter-wise array input, so CLI will submit the
request as a chain of EXECUTE requests. There is a maximum of
32760 statements that can be chained at one time. Surpassing
this limit would cause an exception. This APAR will allow DB2
Connect to split the chain up so that the limitation is not
    reached.
    .
An exception may also occur with an array input request for
INSERT or MERGE statements if the number of rows is greater than
32767. DB2 for z/OS does support the insert and merge operations
when using parameter-wise array input, but the number of rows is
limited to 32767. This APAR fix will cause the insert and merge
array input requests that exceed this limit to be sent as
    chains of execute statements.

Local fix

  • Change the application by limiting the array size to less than
    32K
