JR27972: THE RUN TIME CLIENT INSTALL CHECKS SCREEN RESOLUTION EVEN DURING A SILENT INSTALL

APAR status

Error description

  • A Silent Install of the v9 Run Time Client only will fail if the
    Screen Resolution is set lower that 800 x 600. This is the
    minimum resolution required for an attended install.
    

Local fix

  • Local Fix: None
    
    Work Around: Increase Screen Resolution to 800 X 600 or higher,
    or install the DB2 Client instead.

    though a silent install does not display a graphical user
    interface.
    
    Problem Summary:
    Unattended / Silent install of the Run Time Client will fail if

Problem conclusion

  • Problem first fixed in DB2 v9.1 FP5
    

Temporary fix

  • Set screen resolution to 800 x 600 or greater
