Error description

  • Error Message: N/A
    .
    Stack Trace: N/A
    .
PHD heapdumps contain incorrect references between objects. The
typical symptom is a self reference back to an object, when
    there should
be a reference to a different object. For example, a
java.lang.String object may have a reference to itself, instead
    of to a character
array. When using tools to examine the heapdump the problem may
show up as excessive number of roots.

Local fix

  • Use a system dump for diagnosis instead of a heap dump

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused by incorrect code in the JVM heapdump
    writer.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    5.0.0 SR13
    .
The JVM has been updated to correct the heapdump writer to
    provide correct references between objects.
    .
    To obtain the fix:
    Install build 20110428 or later

Temporary fix
