Error description

  • Error Message: The byte sequence "0xfe 0xff" is not malformed by
    the definition of UTF-16.  It is simply a zero-length
    string(Byte Order Mark). However, UTF16 return a one byte blank
    space as output instead of getting a zero byte null string.

Problem summary

  • The UTF16 converter did not validate whether the input is 0xfe
    0xff while processing the string.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    5.0.0 SR12 FP5
    .
    The JVM is modified to handle Byte Order Mark in UTF16 converter
    .
    To obtain the fix:
    Install build 20110428 or later
