APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After exporting the following environment varaibles:
  DER_DBG_FORK=BOTHRUN
  
  And then running the IBM Distrubited Debugger V7.1, users who
  call fork() will find that the UI does not preserve the
  breakpoints set within the child process.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Breakpoints from an active debug session are not applied to a
  new debug session for the same program.
  
  USERS AFFECTED:
  Users whose program invokes fork() and have installed or
  removed breakpoints during the current debug session before the
  call to fork() is made.
  Users who debug multiple instances of the same program and want
  breakpoints added or removed in the first session to be
  reflected in the second.
  

Problem conclusion

• With the fix, the currently installed breakpoints are saved for
  all active debug sessions when a new session is started. This
  ensures that the new session will have the latest set of
  breakpoints.
