Local fix
This issue can be worked around if the cache directory for shared classes exists and is writable. You can use the following JVM option to set the cache directory for shared classes to an existing and writable directory. -Xshareclasses:cacheDir=<TargetDirectory>

Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 6.0.0 SR9 FP2 . The JVM has been updated so that a proper message will show up if the cache directory for shared classes does not exist and can not be created. . To obtain the fix: Install build 20110325 or later
