Local fix
On IBM i, manually add two files with appropriate configuration (Make sure add them together). /etc/resolv.conf file - Used by java to obtain DNS server address. /etc/netsvc.conf file - Should be created at the same time. It will avoid performance issues.
Problem summary
The problem is caused when "ldap:///DC=**,DC=**,DC=**" style address is used and no resolv.conf on IBM i.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 5.0.0 SR12 FP5 . The issue has been fixed on IBM i. . To obtain the fix: Install build 20110308 or later
