Error description

  • Error Message: Sometimes the "file lock watchdog" timer thread
    might be still alive after VM has been shutdown and the JNI
    Native DestroyJavaVM() will return -1
    .

Local fix

  • If you do not intend to use the Java Attach API capability, this
    issue can be worked around using the following option to disable
    Attach API
     -Dcom.ibm.tools.attach.enable=no
    

Problem summary

  • The problem is because the "file lock watchdog" timer thread is
    not shutdown properly.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.0 SR10
    .
       The JVM has been updated so that the "file lock watchdog"
    timer thread is shutdown properly.
    .
    To obtain the fix:
    Install build 20101012 or later
