Error description

  • Error Message: Fileversion query on jvm.dll's version string in
SR 11 = 2.3.0.45935 and SR12 FP3 = 2.3.0.4133
.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • Each segment in the file version string is a 16bit chunk.
Currently the final segment represents the JVM component build
identifier.  When this build identifier surpassed what could be
stored in a 16bit field we hit a problem.

  • This defect will be fixed in:
5.0.0 SR13
5.0.0 SR12 FP5
6.0.0 SR10
6.0.0 SR9 FP2
1.4.2 SR13 FP10 (Windows IA32)
1.4.2 SR13 FP10 (Windows AMD64)
.
The JVM has been updated to utilize each file version segment
more effectively to once again correctly increment the file
versions on libraries and executables.
.
To obtain the fix:
Install build 20110215 or later
