  • Error Message: SIGSEGV received when executing application code.

Local fix

  • -Xjit:disableLoopVersioner will fix the problem. Note however,
that using this option may result in serious performance
degradation of the application.

Problem summary

  • The problem is that the JIT optimizer incorrectly optimizes away
a sign extension that is required to initialize an index into an
array. This index is then used to access a memory location that
is out of bounds of the array causing the crash.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
6.0.0 SR9
5.0.0 SR13

The JIT optimizer has been updated to fix the problem.

Install build 20100832 or later
