IZ77117: NO ERROR REPORTED WHEN HEAPDUMP IS CORRUPT DUE TO FULL DISK

APAR status

Error description

  • Error Message: A generated heapdump cannot be processed by
    tools, because it is corrupt.  The cause of the corruption is
    because the disk the heapdump was written to had insufficient
    space.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused when the disk is full, and a correct
    heapdump cannot be written.  We do not report an error message
    to the user.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    5.0.0 SR12
    6.0.0 SR9
    .
    The JVM has been updated to report that the heapdump is corrupt,
    and why it is corrupt.
    .
    To obtain the fix:
    Install build 20100615 or later
