Local fix

  • Disable the shared cache by passing "-Xshareclasses:none" java
command line option.

Problem summary

  • Shared string table corruption caused an internal VM structure
to have invalid address for its data member leading to crash in
j9dyn24.dll

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
6.0.0 SR8
.
Additional checking has been added to the VM code  to ensure
that the data members of internal VM structure are valid and
aligned correctly.  If the string table is found to be corrupt,
it will be re-created.

To obtain the fix:
Install build 20100109 or later
