Error description

  • When drilling down in reports, it is taking several minutes to
    return the results in DB2.
    

Local fix

  • By using the REOPT ALWAYS on a rebind the customer was able to
    get a 2-4 second response time (previously took 8 min +) on the
    same query with the date boundaries being set by parameters
    instead of by hardcoded literals.
    
    The customer and DB2 support made some additional changes to the
    table date boundary checking - these will be impemented in the
    next release (or in a subsequent fix pack).
    

Problem summary

  • Changes were made to the REBIND and to the table date boundary
    checking - these will be implemented in the next release (7.1.3)
    or in the next 7.1.2 Fix Pack.
