Error description

  • When customer attempts to install 7.1.1.5 patch on DB2 and
    receives the following error.

    This is fixed in the 7.1.1.5 hotfix but needs to be included in
    the 7.1.1.5 fixpack install.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: Users with a database that cannot hadle      *
    *                 Arabic and Hebrew characters.                *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Normally when a database find a         *
    *                      character it cannot handle, it is       *
    *                      converted into a question mark (?),     *
    *                      however it seem like the Arabic and     *
    *                      Hebrew characters causes SQL errors in  *
    *                      stead.This results in the script        *
    *                      crashing.                               *

    The database fails during update of the Yes/No values for
    Arabic and Hebrew.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Normally when a database find a character it cannot handle, it
    is converted into a question mark (?), however it seem like the
    Arabic and Hebrew characters causes SQL errors in stead.
