IZ62039: JAVA.LANG.NOCLASSDEFFOUNDERROR: COM/SUN/DEPLOY/UTIL/BLACKLIST

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Error Message: On launching a webstart application that
  specifically requires java 50 with java 6 , the application
  should successfully launch.  But currently, it fails with the
  following exception :
  "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/deploy/util/BlackList"
  .
  Stack Trace: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
  com/sun/deploy/util/BlackList
  .
  On launching a webstart application that specifically requires
  java 5.0 with java 6 , the application should successfully
  launch.  But currently, it fails with the following exception :
  "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/deploy/util/BlackList"
  

Local fix

• This results from a check controlled by the deployment
  configuration property deployment.security.blacklist.check
  The property is enabled using the Enable blacklist revocation
  check option in the
  Java Control Panel.
  To work around the problem:
  1) Launch the Java Control Panel.
  2) Select Advanced tab -> Security.
  3) Deselect the Enable blacklist revocation check option.
  

Problem summary

• The Java6 SR6 version of WebStart depends on a class
  OpenFileInputStreamAction which is not present in Java5.0 or
  1.4.2.
  

Problem conclusion

• This defect will be fixed in:
  5.0.0 SR11
  1.4.2 SR13 FP3
  .
  The class OpenFileInputStreamAction has been added to JVMs 5.0
  and 1.4.2
  .
  To obtain the fix:
  Install build 20091002 or later
