Problem summary
Th problem occurs because particular part o he JIT optimization code was incorrectly transforming the code into another internal pattern. This resulted in losing of the preconceived information hat a variable cannot be NULL at a point and a NULL value got percolated leading to the invalid NPE
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 5.0.0 SR11 6.0.0 SR6 . JIT has been fixed to ensure that this incorrect transformation does not happen . To obtain the fix: Install build 20090806 or later
