Local fix

Problem summary

  • In java 142 on AIX, while generating Javacore,
    /etc/swapspaces and /usr/lpp/bos/aix_release.level files are
    opened and aren't closed. When a huge no. of
    javacores are generated over a long period of time, "Too many
    open files" error may encounter.
    

Problem conclusion

  • JVM has been modified by adding fclose(fp) while generating the
    javacores. The problem is verified with a local test fix and
    observed the problem is not recreatable with the testfix.
    This defect will be fixed in:
    1.4.2 SR13 FP1
