APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Programs that use dlopen() to load and initialize shared
    libaries with circular dependancies will fail when they are run
    against the V9.0 or V10.1 C++ runtimes.

Local fix

  • n/a

Problem summary

  • Recursive initialization of the same dynamic library.
    If during the initialization phase of libraryA, a
    dlopen() of libraryB is issued, and libraryB has a
    dependency on libraryA already being loaded,
    an infinite loop on libarayA initialization may
    occur.

Problem conclusion

  • The compiler now recogizes this situation and does not enter an
    infinite loop.
