This problem can be worked around by excluding affected methods from JIT compilation; however, the methods to be excluded depend on the specific application / situation and require deep technical expertise for identification. Please contact IBM for assistance with a work-around.
Problem summary
During a transition from executing JIT'ed java code to executing interpreted java code, when more than 16 parameters have been passed and some of the parameters above the 16th are floats and / or doubles, a hashing algorithm fails to distinguish between two called methods and re-uses a data structure that is not compatible between the two methods.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 6.0.0 SR4 5.0.0 SR12 . The hashing algorithm has been improved such that it correctly distinguishes between the two called methods. . To obtain the fix: Install build 20081117 or later
