APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An internal compiler error is encountered when a program calls a
subroutine that accepts a variable number of parameters but does
    not provide an explicit interface.
There must be at least two calls to the subroutine that use
different argument lists in the same compilation unit for this
    problem to be encountered.

Local fix

  • Provide an explicit interface for the subroutine.

Problem summary

  • There is no portable way of calling vararg C functions from
Fortran, however, the compiler should not fail with an internal
    compiler error.

Problem conclusion

  • The compiler no longer fails.

Temporary fix
