APAR status

Error description

  • DB2 on HP is unnecessarily padding shared library data regions.
This is resulting in 1MB reserved paging space per loaded librar
y per db2agent.  This APAR will remove the padding on all DB2 li
braries except the most performance-critical, those being the ma
in client and server libraries.

Local fix

  • add more paging space as necessary.

Problem summary

  • Padding shared libraries on HP platform are consuming large
paging space. This APAR disables padding shared libraries on
most of db2 shared libraries to reduce the paging space cost.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR is first fixed in v82 fixpack 18.
